Remembering Old Friends

pet-urnWhile it can seem quite unfair, often owners outlive several dogs throughout their lives. These pets become parts of our lives that can never be replaced, but we can preserve their memory and remember all our experiences together with dog urns. Each dog we own throughout our lives will become a special part of us, and it’s best to remember them through a memorial like a wood cremation urn. Dog urns can be placed throughout the home wherever the owner wishes to have an object with which to remember their beloved canine. However, dog urns are not the only option. There are also pet memorial stones, which are more feasible for outdoor locations. There are even pet grave memorials for those owners who would prefer to bury their pet as opposed to cremating them.

When we remember all of our wonderful experiences with our pets, it can be easier to tackle life and not think about the devastating loss of our friends. If we keep our canine friends in our heart, they will never leave our side.

In Memory of Your Pet

urnA pet cremation urn allows families to honor the life of deceased animals in a sentimental and personalized manner. Parting with a beloved pet is a nightmare of a reality that every pet owner dreads. When my childhood dog died, my family was completely grief stricken. Naturally, we weren’t ready to let her presence fade so we had her delicate body cremated and her ashes sealed in an urn.

Each and every pet personality can be graciously captured with a memorial urn. Mantel clocks, photographs and stuffed animals are just a few of the varieties of pet cremation urns. No matter which urn you choose, the loving memory of your pet will remain alive in your home. To love a pet like family is to cherish them forever.

Anyone who has experienced a loss has probably heard of closure; it’s whatever means by which you can accept, and come to terms with, that loss. For some, closure can come from quiet reflection or remembering the lost loved one. For others, it is attending a funeral and being able to talk about that individual’s life. By whatever means people achieve closure, it is necessary to acknowledge the importance of closure.

It doesn’t matter if you’re grieving the loss of a relative or the loss of a pet. Loss is loss, and you’ll have to deal with that loss in your own time and your own way. If your family pet has recently passed, and the family is having trouble moving on, consider the possibility of hosting a funeral for your pet. There are numerous places to find a pet casket or urns, and the funeral itself will give everyone who loved your beloved animal the chance to share special memories and talk about their grief.

Running with Your Canine Buddy

pet-collarIt’s common for people to want to take their best canine friend with them when running outdoors. Dogs need exercise too, after all. But it’s important to be a little cautious when running with your dog because, unlike people, they don’t understand that running out in the street is a bad idea. It’s best to run or walk with your dog on a leash, and in some states, this is the law. But regardless of whether you use a leash or not, it’s important that your dog wear a reflective dog collar. Just as bicyclists and runners often wear reflective vests, it’s important for motorists to be aware of dogs too.

You can find lighted dog collars at most pet stores, and even at some stores that sell exercise equipment.  With a lighted dog collar, should your dog get away from you at some point, they will be visible to oncoming motorists; it could save their life!

Your pet stayed by your side throughout his entire life. Now you’re devastated that he has passed away and that he won’t be by your side anymore. But you can still keep the memory of your pet close by storing his remains in a cremation urn. A subtle, decorative urn can be displayed in your home to honor your pet for years and years.

Pet cremation is often a less expensive alternative to pet burial. A cremation urn can be made of wood or other material and custom crafted to honor your pet specifically. You can even add a personalized plaque to commemorate your pet’s name, birth date and death date. Your pet would be happy to know that you chose to keep them near you for many years to come.

A Dog Safety Solution

Many dogs don’t have a schedule for relieving themselves – they need to go when they need to go! That said, dog owners often find themselves walking their dogs at night when it’s dark. This can put both the dog and owner in danger of getting hit by a car. We all know that people should wear light, bright colors if they are walking or biking at night, but how are you protecting your dog?

Dogs could easily be hit by a car, even if the driver sees you. They may not notice a dark dog at the end of a dark leash. You can help prevent this tragedy by buying a lighted dog collar for your dog. Some lighted dog collars can be set to flash mode or just a steady light; flash is recommended for maximum visibility. Don’t take any chances with your beloved dog – invest in his safety today!

pet-cremation-urn-016It  is so heart breaking to talk to families who have just lost their lovable pet either through illness or totally unexpected. When they call to order a cremation urn or pet casket it is  difficult for me to find the comforting words to console their grief, however I do what I can and then  help them select the final resting place for their deceased pet.

Had  a family recently call who had just lost thier pet dog totally on expected. She said she thought  he was  sleeping only to find out latter that he had passed away, she said that he had some health issues some time ago which did not appear life threating  and that he appeared to be very normal recently and that this was a total shock for her to find him this way,  my heart went out to her and her family.

Allthough we all know these things happen in real life and yet when they accur we are unprepared and have a difficult time dealing with them.

Pet Caskets and Urns A New Venture

pet-caskets-007Some time ago our neighbor who had  two small bichon frise dogs one male and one female, the female developed a incurable illness  she was quit old .When she was diagnosed as being gravely ill by the vet he informed the owners that it was just a matter of time before she would pass on or have to be put down because she was under some stress and pain the vet informed them to take her home keep her comfortable for the time she probably had left to live.

My neighbor than called me to ask if I would make her a box as they intended to bury her in the back yard after she passes on. I informed her that I would be more than happy to do that for her. After giving it some thought and talking it over with my wife we decided in as much as it was our neighbor and good friend that we would make a very nice casket (coffin)  for here. I pro ceded to make the box my wife the stuffed pillow and a friend of ours who does embroidery work made the head liner.

A few days latter when the casket was finished we took it over and presented it to them they were just overwhelmed and thought it was just beautiful she decided to take it over to her vets and show him what Mandy was going to be buried in, he said “o” my gosh I think these people are unto something  I`m sure there could be a market for this type of thing.

My neighbor informed me of what the vet had said, with that we began to produce them, selling them on E-bay and putting fliers around local pet shops and veterinarian clinics and so the business began.

PETS OUR BEST FRIENDS TELL DEATH

pet casketsThere are very few people living today that if not now had a pet they loved

dearly and became very attached to at some time in their life. when that pet

became very ill because of a incurable disease or just became so old it no

longer could live a comfortable life, even though its a very sad time a decision

must be made to have them put down or let them die naturally. When this event

takes place the question always comes up as to what to do with the remains, do

we have it cremated, bury it in a pet casket  in the back yard or have the vet dispose

of it by some means. What ever you decide its a question that must be

addressed. Most people tend to put these decisions off until the day something

happens. If you had addressed these question some time earlier you would be much

more comfortable and relieved knowing that when that sad day does arrive that

those arrangements have been addressed and finalized.
